What made you decide to use UBuildIt rather than a traditional home builder?

UBuildIt comes through with a new approach to building.  We were able to build the home we wanted and didn't have to start with a standard builder plan. UBuildIt then helped us design that home within our budget and helped with the vendors and the whole construction process.  The staff at UBuildIt is very honest , personable and easy to work with.  They are dedicated to offering the best possible construction costs and contractors that take pride in their work and it shows.

Tell us a bit about the process and how UBuildIt builds more home for the dollar.

UBuildIt involved us every step of the way during the design process with the designer. They guided us financially while helping us incorporate our ideas yet educated us if we were going in the wrong direction. Their main goal was to keep us within our budget and worked directly with us in the selections process.  Realize you may be at the same budget number as a traditional builder but with UBuildIt you are getting more home, actual costs and nicer amenities.

Quite often the letter “U” in UBuildIt makes a person think twice.  How did the letter “U” pertain to your build?  

The “U” means the way YOU want it to be.  You are involved with the design process.  They help you with a custom design that you want also that is within your budget. You get to see all the costs and You make the final decisions but they help you all the way through. 

How does UBuildIt save you money?

They offer options, if you know a contractor you like you can have them bid for a specific part of the construction.  UBuildIt bids out the project and you go over all the bids together so there are no hidden costs.  You have the opportunity to also work out deals with some of the sub contractors. When you cut out the middle man it’s amazing how much money you can save and get a higher quality of home.  

What energy efficient features does UBuildIt incorporate into the homes they build?

We did our own research and were glad that UBuildIt specialized in the use of geothermal and radiant floor heating in the basement. They also came through with a cost and energy efficient design that incorporated the use of SIP walls.  UBuildIt works with the people who are current with today’s energy saving ideas and that give you the best bang for your buck. 

How would you best describe the quality of the sub contractors that UBuildIt prefers to use? 

UBuildIt offers some of the best high quality contractors you could ever want to work with.  Pride is what impressed me about the high quality contractors UBuildIt has working for them.  Besides there workmanship the contractors will LISTEN and recommend their best ideas to address your needs. After hearing the many nightmare stories of friends who have built homes, the caliber of contractors used by UBuildIt have only demonstrated the PRIDE in the workmanship of their building.  They are open to questions and will make suggestions that will be of benefit to you.

What would best describe the level of communication you had with UBuildIt, before and during construction? 

They have the expertise to help you work through the process and meet head on with any problems or if you need any help understanding.  They are always available to be at your assistance, even on the weekends.  They are there to help and coordinate the process. The communication is on a daily basis, everyone knows what's going on with the project and that is a major plus to us. 

Most everyone is afraid of cost overruns in building. How did UBuildIt help you design a house that you could afford?

If your wishes exceed your budget they will let you know and will attempt by all means to try keep you focused so YOU are happy and still stay within your budget.  The will not try and come back later and add any cost that you did not approve.  They had realistic budgeted amounts based on your lot and the level of finishes you were interested in. This is not rocket science, you get reminded of the decisions you make, REMEMBER YOU HAVE THE LAST WORD, THIS IS YOUR HOUSE

Potential clients may think they are taking on a part time job when using UBuildIt.  How much time would you say you invest a day on your new home? 

The time you invest is up to you.  If you want to be part of the whole process you can.  You can even help in the construction if you are willing to do it and this will save you money.  The more involved you are the more you will enjoy the outcome.  The end product will be what you have on the blueprint.  If you want to change something during construction UBuildIt will work with you to accomplish that.  I was out at the site as much as possible so I know everything that was happening.  It enabled me to see the house evolve.  Having never built a new home before, the interaction with the contractors was extraordinarily relaxed.

How does one get more information on UBuildIt? 

We met the UBuildIt personnel at a Home show. They invited us into their office for a no-obligation meeting. We brought in ideas of what we were looking to build. UBuildIt asked us in-depth questions pertaining to the construction and amenities of our new home. Within a week they had pricing back to us. We got a great feeling from the staff at UBuildIt. We knew they were not just trying to sell us a house, they sincerely cared and took pride in the homes they were involved with. This is a company I highly recommend you talk to before making any decisions on building a new home.
